Second one looks like a BN (bristle nose) , the first one I am am not sure on the many types of pleco.

I would say the first one is not a BN, but some other pleco most likely a common.

The first is a common plec and the second a bristlenose.

Personally I would be bagging up the common plec and take it back to the shop and tell them you asked and payed for a bristlenose which it certainly isnt. They get HUGE and messy.

The first one looks like a gibbiceps to me; will grow even bigger than a common plec

'Fraid so. It's a bit naughty of the shop to sell you that as a BN, even though most plecs do look very similar.

Common Plecs the one's that used to give me nightmares.

I bought 3 that were sposed to be BN but one died during an Ick treatment. It looked like the second one, so I think they were right and this guy just snuck into the wrong tank?
