Identify This Fish

Well I bought x4 loach from the fish shop yesterday but forgotten the name of them

The lady at the shop said they will only grow a couple of inches and will also eat snails, this was the reason I bought them. Can someone please identify, sorry the picture is rubbish but they move around so fast.

Looking at other pictures on the net I am 95% sure its a chain loach.

Dwarf chain loach. Do not buy fish before you research and you probably want to buy a few more of these, if your tank is big enough (3+ft) because they school.

Perhaps Dwarf Chain Loach, but given the not well defined chain pattern, perhaps the larger 4" Yasuhikotakia nigrolineata?

definatlet a chain loach. will max out at around 3". they are great but you really need at least 5.

Yup, Yasuhikotakia sidthimunki or Dwarf Chain Loach.

I have to agree, they are fantastic fish! I dont think they will hit more than 2" to be fair, shoaling, will eat all snails and baby fish, are totally amazing when you watch their behaviour!

But please, i work in a shop, i feel sad when people take my word and assume i know everything! I do my best but if people dont question me, i dont learn to have better knowledge on the species, not enough to answer every question thrown my way!

I dont advise ANY cutomer to buy fish without doing research first! Even if you do ask detailed questions, if you go into a shop with questions and no one can answer them.... dont buy!
