Identify My Fish.

I caught a fish fry by the river the other day so I put it into my aquarium. I've been wondering what fish it was so here I am
It looks like a type of cichlid though.
Here are some pictures

Its the one up top

Here the little guy is just below the center of the picture.

Either way, it shouldn't be in with the Guppies.

Looks like a totally different fish in the different pics. Where did you catch it? Might give you a better idea as to what it is.
As ianho said, it will probably outgrow the guppies very quickly... then destroy them.

I know nothing about cichlids but it seems to be an african cichlid. A shell Dweller? Something in the Neolamprologus family?

I caught where I am from which is Malaysia.
One of the pic looks different cause of the light shining on it.
I got a smaller tank with the same fish's fry. Maybe its siblings O:
So should I put it there?

Edit: mainland or islands? If mainland, could be Badis or related.

I'm sorry I did anything wrong. I'm still quite new to the hobby.
What do you mean wild fish added to my aquarium must never be released back into the wild?
I'm caught it in the mainland I suppose, around 10-15km off the city.

It's not that it's wrong, it's more that it is a lot of responsibility.
I mean, once the fish is inside your aquarium, it must remain inside an aquarium until it dies. If you release it, there is a high chance that you may introduce a non-native parasite to the river or lake, which can result in a lot of deaths of other wild fish. The fish you release may also be unused to hunting for food, which will mean that it may also starve to death in the wild.

So, it is all round irresponsible to release fish back into the wild once you have put it into an aquarium.
