I was out on the lake the other day and I noticed the most beautiful blue and orange fish. Fresh water man-made lake in SE Florida - fish is non native so presumably dumped out of someone's aquarium -I have been dying to find out what it is ever since! It is about 6-7 inches with blue stripes on an orange body with black spots (either 1 or three) by the caudal fin.

Can anyone help?
Thanks so much!

sounds like an African cichlid may be but not a clue other wise

I hadn't realized this was a UK site when I posed the query .. but it does look similar - following on your suggestion I researched further & think it may well be a mayan cichlid - I appreciate the help

This is a global site, just so happens that most users are from the UK.
