Ideas Tips Etc.

Hi,
The betta would probably eat the shrimps, but most bottom dwellers can be mixed with bettas such as the cory's, African dwarf frogs (ADF) but make sure its the dwarf and not clawed because clawed frogs can grow pretty big and eat the betta.

Make sure you dont put any quick fish in like tetras because they will agitate the betta and nip his / her fins.

:good:
EDIT: also you'll have to make a lid if that tank doesnt come with one because bettas are known to jump out :/

Thanks for the replies I'll put a few mts's in their and maybe a small frog not sure what other fish to put in with him though in every ones experience what would you all recommend? (only looking at 1 or 2)

i have shrimp in with my betta and they are ok i think it depends on the betta...

i`ve grot the samer tank on the way, and i`m going to make a "mini me" of the high teck planted that i`m going to be building down stairs at the same time

While the Betta will do alright with the cories, cories should be in same species groups of 5 or 6 at least. Bettas will often also start harrassing the cories after awhile. Most cories will do okay, but they will hide more and won 't do the "cory dance" for you. (They won't spawn.)

I have tried several options, and, while they "work", I have found that the Betta do best singly in their own little world. There was no problem with the ADF (African dwarf frog), but I didn't have it there long. I have Apple snails in most tanks as they keep the algae down and clean up a bit. I usually have at least some plants in all tanks. I have never tried shrimp. But it has worked for some.

Thanks for the replies :)

I wasn't going to put any corries in as i think the tank isn't bigger enough for them either.

would like to have shrimps in there think ill get the beta first then see how it acts and weather or not i think it would be aggressive toward them Ive read about people keeping ghost shimps with them. or maybe some kind of small plec?
