Ideas On Improving My Boys 3g Tank?

Hi guys! I feel i could improve on my boys tank as i see so many lovely looking tanks even though there small! At the moment i have a little live plant and another cambomba type plant & a cocunut cave, but i want to make it really good for Alphie. Any ideas? I dont have a lgiht for his tak so most live plants die within a week even whent here very low light plants and i can't get a light for the tank for a few weeks. My lfs sells a 14L tank that i may buy for my boy, but i dont know how much 14L is in gallons and if it would be any bigger than my tank atm. Also alphie is a shy boy, i want to make him feel better about trusting me.

15l is 3g
moss dose well in low light so java moss or a moss ball would be fine also some bog wood would be good

To make him feel more secure, i would add a background onto his tank.
You could even try 3 sides of the tank and leave the front clear then to view, I've noticed my boys feel secure like that.

If live plants don't work get lots of silk plants, around 4.
When Lunar was in the 10l tank he had no light, and the Java Fern grew fine, they don't need much light, natural sun is fine.

You can get that from Ebay for around £3-4, and they love sleeping in it also.
You could also try marbles at the bottom of the tank.
