ive just got a 6 foot x 2 foot x 2.5 foot 848L tank with 8 x T8 and stuck to what to put in it, it was ordered so that we had a large tank in stock but its so big there is noway we are gunna deliver it to anyone so decided to sell fish from it but not to sure what to add to it, i dont really like very big fish but i appreciate some of our customers will be looking for large ones, i love the idea of doing a good ongoing deal on cardinals as they are one of our top sellers in the shop, would love to add a shoal of 700+ or so to give it an awesome effect. i also like the idea of using it to help with the needed breeding programmes of galaxy rasboras, could add a massive amount to this tank, what would you consider more beneficial? please dont give silly answers like dolphins etc....
was wondering what plants could be great in there as well, or some kind of unusal landscape idea that would make this tank an awesome feature of the shop.

wow so manyu possibility's a sagittaria or echinodorus tennelus carpet would look shweeet, also stuff like narrow leaf java fern on some nice bogwood, i agree cardinals would look great, a huge shoal of pygmy cory's would be amazing like 50 to 100 it would look so natural, they also like to swim mid water unlike the larger cory's i would avoid big fish if you go heavily planted, they tend to distract from the look of the plants. small fish look much better. some rams would also look great in there, or neon blue rainbowfish, theres just so many possibilities lol but the lighting u have sounds perfect for a high tech planted, although you would need co2, keep the forum updated on this one. :D

do you have a demand fo galaxy rasboras? Breeding them would be a good thing to do (like in a moral sense) but since its a buisness it's important to ensure you have a demand for them before filling a 6ft tank with them.

I agree a large, heavily planted tank with cardinals would look fantastic. It's a tank I would like myself. They look awesome in a large group like that.

well I must be the one to give a silly answer

I am in a lfs with my son and neice, and I point to a 6x4x4 tank and ask her what she would want in it jokeingly, her answer....

a dog?

Massive amounts of Galaxy Rasbora would get my vote. How about Cherry / Crystal shrimp too? Both relatively hard to get hold of, breed like rabbits, and saleable.

Cardinals you can get almost anywhere but would I agree look spectacular - I really need to come and see your new shop.

Edit, and for the scape - Moss. Lots of it and lots of different types on big chunks of drift/bogwood. Interesting moss is yet another thing its impossible to get in the UK, all the sellers of interesting moss I have seen (on Ebay) are in the far east.

i know you want cardinals which would look nice but what about a nice shoal of about 7-8 discus? or even 2 or 3 large uaru's would be great!!!!!

I would personally have a sub-tropical tank with Red-lined Torpedo barbs, weather/dojo loaches, bloodfin tetra's, danio's, hillstream loaches, yoyo loaches, White cloud mountain minnows etc- the tank would be very active but peaceful, with a soft sandy substrate with scattered large rounded rocks & pebbles and driftwood, a little planting and strong filtration  .

Breed BGKs...

A FOWLR would be cool...

As other people have said galaxy rasbora and cherry/crystal red shrimp would be nice.

Have colourful, eye catching fish of some sorts ( thus were a FOWLR comes in good )
