So i have a 125 6ft tank that is currently cycling, will be adding fish in about a week. It will be a CA/SA cichlid tank, but i wanted to add some type of oddball. Admittedly, i don't have any real experience in the world of oddballs, so looking for a lot of advice!
Tank will inclue:
1 Vieja Argentea
1 Herichthys Turquoise (similar to Texas)
1 JD
1 Pair of T-Bar
8 Silver Dollars

So what do you think would be a good fit in this tank? Just looking for something out of the ordinary to add to the tank. Thanks!

Might want to try some sort of Bichir in there. An Ornate would go nice with that stocking, or maybe an Eel, you might just get away with a Fire Eel and they are amazing once they get to a decent size.

i was debating between a fire eel, but im not sure if A. it will get bullied and B. it will have too hard a time competing for food. anyone?

They can become quite tame actually and I used to hand feed the one I had prawns. If you land a few extra prawns by him at feeding he wont go hungry. As for bullying I had mine in with a Green Terror, Parrots, Blue Jack Dempsey anmd various others and nothing ever bothered him.

I had a 2 fire eels and one was hard to feed frozen so i kept on feeding him live bloodworms and earth worms, but then i tried again with frozen blood worm and he ate as it was the same looking food but dead which he/she realized.
No worries about bullying, i kept mine with cichlids like malawis and nothing has ever attacked them.
Mine were only 5" and 7" but when they get bigger to about 12" is when they will be more exciting and their true colours will come out.
It is best to have atleast a 15" high tank for these as they can swim up without having to touch the ground with their tails (i think personally).

Thanks

What's the measurements of the tank? sounds like its going to be a not very wide tank if its 6 foot which is going to restrict your stocking greatly.
