Ideal Tank Mates

I have a 55l (11Gal) tank with just a lonley male betta and a bristle plec in there atm. I am hoping to rehome the fighter in a smaller tank, and wanted to get some female fighters. What other tank mates should i put with them? I was looking at mollies and swordtails, but was wondering how nippy they are. Obviously tetras are a no-no.

To be honest, a small group of female fighters would be fine on their own. Females can be just as aggressive as males although when kept in a small group, they aren't quite so bad.
You can get plenty of beautiful female fighters and they will make a great display in their own right without the need for other tankmates.

ok thanks...i guess if i had a nice group of varying types it'd be quite nice...and im sure my lil' plec would be just fine lol
