hey guys i am looking at getting some plants but i dont wanna setup a co2 thing so i was just wondering what plants would grow perfectly fine without it.

i was think anibus, hair grass, amazon sword and few others i cant remember would these be fine??

thanks guys

what is your lighting?
Do you add fertilizers
This information would be helpful to know as lots of plants can do fine without Co2, but require high light.
Some recommended ones that usually dont need high light or added supplements are
- java moss
- hornwort
- anacharis
- rotala rotundifolia
- anubias

no fertilizer, lighting is just 2 t8 bulbs both auqa glo 18watt each

that list u gave me sounds fine but do they need fertilizer?? and will my light be fine

thanks

As a rough guide choose dark green leaved plants as they require less light. :good:

my amazon swords are growing like mad and there's no co2 system in my tank. I have just started adding some furtilizer though and all the plants are looking 'greener' if that makes sense.

I also have java moss, java fern, twisted vallis (struggling a bit in my water but not because of co2) and some stuff that looks like grass ... no idea of it's name.

I did also try cryptpcoryne (spelling?) but it got covered in black hairy algae and looked awful so I got rid of that - I think that was because of co2 so it might be best to avoid that.

Have you had a look in the planted section of the forum?
