Ideal Male To Female Ratio In Koi Swordtails?

Please can you tell me the ideal male to female ratio in koi swordtails?

A ratio of 1 male to 2 females is best, but as long as u have more females to males their be ok.

These are very active fish though so i would suggest that you have only 1 male per square feet of surface area.
So a 3ft tank by 12inches wide will happily take 3 males.

I find that 1m and 3f is better as the male will have 2 more to pester when 1 is pregnant.

In a hobbyist situation, where all that matters is male aggression on the female, a ratio of 2 females to each male is recommended for swordtails. In a commercial enterprise, where the production of fry is the objective, a ratio of 1 male for each 5 females will result in the most fry with the least losses. I am afraid there is no single good answer to this question. It really depends on what your objective is.
