This fine chap was sold to me as a cockatoo or Apistogramma cacatuoides. Im pretty sure he is just that but a few people on this forum dont think so - if hes not can anyone tell me what he is please?

I would say its a male. Kind of looks like a Apistogramma cacatuoides - Cockatoo Apisto of yellow coloration. Different color strains have been bred. Thats my guess. but I am not 100% sure because it is SO yellow.

Looks like a painting or a photshop?

Photoshop IMO because of how green the background is,someones just adjusted the vibrance and the RGB to make it look brighter yellow.

If you save the picture to your desktop and look through the properties it will tell you if its 'shopped.

It is a photo of a fish in their own tank.

I think its an Apistogramma Cacatuoides Gold "Triple Red"

I know that its a real photo,I'm just saying the colours been tweaked in photoshop,it pretty much tells you in the properties that its 'tweaked'

Photoshop always leaves 'routes' heres the photo untweaked

Nope its my picture and I havnt adjusted any colours or tweaked it in photoshop! My picture is his colour , a gorgeous vibrant yellow .Glenbo thats not his colour at all - he looks almost white by what you have done and you have taken out all the colour in his tail which is a vibrant orange as in my original pic!

Faythee thank you! - that is the closest picture ive seen to him - I think I can say he definately is a cockatoo!

All i did was put it in photoshop and press 'undo' brother, the vibrance and saturation were slid right up,wether you did it on purpose or mistake i don't know...but i do know I have seen this fish at Maidenhead and they look just like the 'undone' picture i posted up...a yellowy white colour, also the same as it looks in that link.

Take a full tank shot, without messing with Saturation etc and post it up.

so we can see if your rocks and substrate are still 'bright green' (which happens when you mess with RGB functions)
