Id Needed Please.

I need my fast growing cichlid id'd. I was told what he is way back when I bought him last summer but I forgot it. I'd like to get him a couple of females in the near future but I'd like to know more about him first. Sorry the pics aren't very good.

I think its a Geophagus surinamensis

i wouldnt be positive unless you know the where exactly it is from. im not trying to be a jerk, but for now i would also call it geophagus sp.

True surinamensis are very rarely imported. That may be the name it was given where it was purchased, however the chances of it actually being a surinamensis is slim. I'd say it is more likely to be Geophagus abalios.
