Hi there - my tank has settled for the last few months with no problems - my 5 sparkling gourami and 9 cardinal tetras are getting on well, feeding and generally swimming about, the tank is a 54l litre number, with heater and filtration and a pH of 6-7, I know accoridng to inch/gallon rules that I'm fully stocked BUT my cardinals are tiny and I reallllly would like something else. Not sure what though, are there any fishes that can be kept in pairs that I could add? How about pgymy corys? Look forward to some suggestions - I just want to see if anyone can suggest one or two fish that are about 4cm long and colourful?...

Pygmy cories would be a great addition to your tank, i'd say you could have 6-8, the more the better with these guys, there great little fish :good:

what substrate do you have? cories tend to do better with sand IME

I've got pebbles, teeny ones... isn't 6-8 a lot? Was thinkinb 2/3?

no 6-8 will be fine, if you just got 2-3 they wouldn't be very active, they need groups, they more the merrier with these guys, i have 10 in an 8 gal with my betta

I settled on three platties, they liven the tank up a treat, being fatter and slightly larger, really beautiful yellow/orange with black fringing. Yayness!
