Some one bought me a pack of bulbs from Petsmart. On the package it says it contains 3 aponogeton bulbs but there were 9 bulbs in the pack. 1 of them was completely dried out and only 3 of the others sprouted. 2 of them look a like and the other looks completely different. I would like to know what they are so I can look up some information about them like what kind of care they need and how big they grow.

Here are pics of the 2 different types,

I can't take a good pic of anything in that tank for some reason so they was the best I could do. And I know I need more gravel and I will be getting some soon, hopefully.

Are you sure they are crowns?

The both look like Crypt species to me although I could be wrong.

I'm not sure they are anything that is why I'm asking. The package said it contains 3 aponogeton bulbs but had 9 bulbs so 3 may be aponogeton and the others could be something else I guess.

I just looked at a bunch of different aponogetons and I think the first one looks like Aponogeton rigidifolius but I'm finding conflicting info about it and what it needs. Most sites say it is easy but then again some say that it needs high lighting, which I don't have and don't plan on buying either. I would like to rearrange my tank and move these things to a place where they would fit (I don't want to have a short plant in the back or a tall plant in the front) but I won't move them if they won't even make it in my tank. I started to move some things around earlier and the roots on them are already getting big and I don't want to mess with them too much once they grow even more because I don't want to damage them.

They could well be Aponegeton. If they were bulbs then they won't be crypts.

Have a look on plantgeek.net
