Ickle Baby Bichirs

Once those bichir grow they should fill it up - when I had 3 together they were so lively, always out swimming and chasing. Just watch them in a group once they hit about 7" as if they get into a breeding mood they start jumping - that's how I lost 2 before (even with a tight hood they found a way out!)

Yeah I was concerned the little ones might find a way out thru the gaps in the hood, which have filter pipes in both, so makes it fairly tight. Will keep an eye on them though, dont want any jumpers, or suddenly notice them scurrying around the floor

I never had problems with them when little, just once they were feeling fruity. Gorgeous fish, mine did develope a taste for rainbow fish though

Arrrgh, dont say that I hope mine dont, these are pretty large RB's though.

I do love the new camera, I just wish I could make them understand, they need to line up and stay still while I take the pics

well when youve taught yours you can come around and teach mine

Bribery with food would be my best way found fish can be like dogs , offer them a treat and they'll sit still. My lttle pug doesnt sit still until theres food, same with my fish

As someone has said though, be careful with the rainbows, My original Bichir has caused all sorts of problems recently, (nipping other fish, chasing my albino bichir and attacking one of my rainbows)
