Well my neons have ick, and i went and got a product called quICK Cure thats in a black bottle with a red cap. I put the dose it told me to into my 29 gallon tank and then took the charcoal out of my whipser filter (bio bag). What are the bad things that i should expect in the meantime that this medicine clears it all up?

there are two basic cures to ick
malachite green and another, i forgot what it is...

malachite green does nothing wrong besides turn the water green

the other one well i forgot...

oh boy good luck treating.incase you dont know how to: remove the carbon from filter(you have done already), raise temp to 84-86 f, treat as directed on bottle or go less than suggested dose, and treat for atleast 3-4 days after that last ich spot disapears. i find that a huge gravel vac before treatment helps a lot, i guess it removes most of ich cysts hidding in the gravel. you can expect plastic and silicon parts int the tank to turn blue, possible deaths deaths....dont mean to scare you, its just that tetras are lot weaker to ich meds than most other fish. a lot of stress, on you and the fish. some of the others can give more info........this is all i can remember/think of for now.

Shiat IC. My neons are moving towards the top more which is starting to scare me (casue of lack of O2) because they're always hanging on the bottom and mid tank :(

from all the reading i've done around here.... I'd say if they seem to head toward the surface gasping, the meds you're using might be killing off healthy bacteria, therefore causing nitrite or ammonia spikes and making it hard for them to breathe... Its been suggested to add an extra airstone.

Good luck, i'm going through the same thing right now .

theres this whisper airstone at petco thats like 20 bucks that i've wanted to buy, but where do i put it? just in the corner of the tank or what?

84-86F good for speeding up the Ich life cycle but pretty hard on tetras....also warmer water will carry less oxygen.
Any cheapo airstone and pump will help. Just bury the stone in the gravel to hold it down, or buy a little airline suction cup and clamp the line right near the bottom. Make sure the pump is either above the water level or you buy a siphon blocker. If you lose power the airline will siphon water right down into the pump.
Good luck Funny Pie.
