Hi there

So about a week and a bit ago I got two rosy barbs and added them to my tank without quarantining them (stupid yes I know). A few days after getting them, I noticed white spots on their tail fins- on both of them, in around the same place. None of my other fish however have contracted these "spots" and I have quite a few other fish...

Isn't ich meant to be very infectious?

Yesterday I started treatment by turning the temp up and adding some medication. If I continue doing this for four days will it definitely rid my tank of this disease?

Also with my plants, I want to remove them from my diseased tank and put them in my main tank, how do I ensure that no disease is on my plants?

Thanks in advance!

ich will only take hold of fish that are stressed out as their slime coat weakens and allows ich to take hold. So, its not about the ich being in the tank, if you got happy healthy fish, it being there is a non issue.

Are the spots on the fish size of a grain of salt?
Do the spots look bigger than a grain salt?
Do the spots have any red, pink areas?

:hi:
