Fish just came down with ich in my 125 gal im using heat treatment trying to get the temp to 88 degrees f. Its not a huge problem yet only two fish have it but ik its probably settled on the substrate waiting to infect others. Current temp is 86 degrees. I have scaleless catfish some synodontis and cories so salt treatment is out of the question i would say right. Should i just crank the temp to 89 to kill the parasite that way.

Above 28c should kill it of within 16 days i believe but it your fish can handle it i hear 30c is the best temp for stopping whitespot

also daily gravel vacs and water changes are a must

infact i bought some fish last wek that are in my Q tank that i am treating for white spot so i shall be watching this topic v.closely

Raise temp to 30.
Remove black carbon from filter if you use it.
Increase aeration as the high temp and med reduce 02 in the water.

Make sure you can use the full dose of whitespot med, as some brands you can only half dose with sensitive fish like catfish.

Do a gravel vac before you add the med.
Then do a water change and gravel vac before you redose. Just follow med instructions.
Treat another week once spots have disappeared.
