Ich- Am I Doing This Right

Bless Him. R.I.P.
Did all you could for him. Didn't sound like he was going to make it.

Best to treat for another week once spots have gone.

u should def continue wit the treatment because the ich parasites will hide in the gravel of ur tank once it detaches from the host fish. Most of the parasites will die within 48 hours of not being attached to a host fish, but it is better to be safe than sorry. u don't want to have a recurring ich problem.

Thanks again,

How many days after the treatment do you think I should wait to put the dwarf frog back in the tank?

I would leave it least two days to give the carbon enough time to absorb the meds.

Hello again,

Everything seems good now. I got the frog back in the tank after making sure all the meds were out. All the fish seem healthy and are all eating. So everything seems fine. Now I just need to find a way to make sure the frog is eating, i worry that he has a hard time getting the food but he seems very healthy.

I just wanted to thank everyone for all of your help it was very appreciate, the fish want to thank you too!

Take Care!

Glad the fish are healthy again.
Well Done.

Hi again,

I am so sorry to be posting again :(

I think something may be wrong with my tera and glofish now though. Last week I noticed my tetra was rather large but I figure she was going to lay eggs or something but now my glofish seems the be kind of getting big too, like a round spot. I was able to get a photo of the tetra but the glofish is too fast too. I am worried it is dropsy, do you think so? I read online that if it is there is not much you can do about it and they will probably die :( I don't know why my fish keep getting sick since I got them about three or four weeks ago.

Here is the photo: http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/248/dscn0209.jpg

Thank you again

Wow the fish is big in the pic.
Are scales sticking out.
What do you feed the fish.
What does it look like when the fish goes to the toilet.

If it is dropsy all you can do is epson salt baths and try a bacterial med in issolation.

I feed the fish tetra tropical flakes and freeze dried blood worms, usually spits out the flakes though and just eats the worms. I don't see any scales sticking out and I have never seen the fish go to the toilet or any of my fish.

He seems to be swimming and he eats so I am really not sure what to make of it. I just thought since the glofish is now also kind of getting that way it may be something.

Thanks again

Bloodworms can make fish bloat up.
Only feed bloodworms twice a week. Don't over feed them.
Need to improve the fish diet with more frozen foods like brime strimp and daphnia.
You can buy frozen foods in the uk with 4 different foods in the pack.
Introduce some green veg into there diet.

Cook some frozen peas for a few minutes, let cool down and pop out of shell. Mush into small pieces and add to the tank.

Try a different brand of flake food.
Cut down on feeding if you over feed the fish. It can do more harm than good.

Thank you for all of the advice I will go to the store tonight to try and fine better foods. I read online to feed them twice a day, is this too much?

I am just worried because he won't eat the flakes but I will look for something like you said.

Thanks

I feed twice aday.
Just try another brand of fakes food.
What does his gills look like.
What does it look like when he goes to the toilet.
Just want to check at spitting food out can be gill flukes to internal parasites.
