Ich? Already Have Finrot....do I Treat Ich Afterwards?

due to money i got an interpet thermostat heater.....which despite setting it to only rise to 27 degrees C took the temp to just under 29.....but the fish seem fine....should i just hold the temp at this temp now...and then rise it to 29.9 2morrow and leave it again then as directed?

Yeah that sounds good well.. It says not to raise it to 29.4 until the 4th day. Wait ok... Wow it's been 4 days already.. I just realized I don't even know what day it is. Hahaha ok sorry, yeah I don't know why it would have gone hotter then you set it but whatever, if it didn't harm the fish then I'm sure it'll be fine. Just follow what the instructions say and you'll be fine. A degree here or there will not make a huge difference. I hope this answers your question.... Waiitttt When did you actually start treatment? Like with the heat? Or did you current heater get hot enough for the first few days?

this is the ummm....3rd day of treatment, the past two days its been on 26 degrees with my old heater......*goes to check temp now*
it's now about 28.9 which it has been since i got back in this evening according to my 'in tank' thermometer.
When i hold the stick on thermometer that came with the tank to the side it says 27...but i reakon the inner one is more accurate.
I am sure that if anything it's just gonna super speed up the ich cycle by a day, but at least it can stay constant now until the 9th day....as i will just add the carbon filter on 7th to reduce the melafix and pimafix.....which btw seems to have stopped the finrot now.....(judging by my betta as other fish don't keep still long enough, but they were less affected anyway)

This is good! Since you have a new heater just follow the instructions and everything will be fine. Keep me updated on any progress. Good luck to you and your fish :D

Thankyou....I will let you know how they are looking in a couple of days *will bump this thread back up then* :good:

well the fighting fish only has one white spot left....one danio has one on its lip, there were some in her fins but they have dropped out....one tetra has one on its lip and i think the pleco is down to 1 maybe 2.....so i have lost some, so now hopefully they won't be reappearing....only dissapearing :)

in the case of the finrot it's been looking good, and odin looks to have a bit of regrowth, but today i've seen a tetra give odin a couple of nips, and I am not sure if this has set it off a little again, it's hard to tell I will keep an eye on it and section him off if I need to until he fully recovers, other than that he's acting fine.....not hiding, not stressed.....and all other fish seem happy too....haven't seen any flicking in a couple of days i don't think either....

...so fingers crossed....and hope the finrot doesn't take hold again!!!

p.s: We're on day 5 of your schedule!
