I have been given the go ahead for a nano in the kitchen. The tank is an 14l P@H cube and the rest of the stuff i have lying around. I got some Dragon stone as well and some Aqua gravel. I wanted to make it an Iwagumi, i have done a few layouts, but could do with some opinions on them. Heres the set up of the tank...BTW i have some plants coming Saturday, and it's going to be shrimp and a micro species tank.

Here's the cube...

thanks for looking and this is all subject to change lol.

the TPN caps are fertiliser right? (awkward question...)

also.. did you know about the lighting unit recall? or is your model not affected?

i like the look of it by the way :)

layout 5 is the one I like BTW

If you shift layout 1 slightly more forward and add a third smaller rock to the back, sort of in back of, but between the first two, you can create a tank with some wicked depth. You can use plants to that effect too. I've seen some of those perspective scapes, very intriguing. You'd need more gravel in the back too to create that twist in perspective.

I'm liking 4 dude, esp if you have a little space behind the largest rock for something like hairgrass or a crypt or two. Mate you have to tell me how you convince the missus as I have 3 tanks and one as a propogator and she won't let me have any more :(

Oh and throw in some Laos Thai micro crabs, great little things and shrimp friendly. :good:

Oh and one more thing if you need some HC for a pleasant carpet I'm here mate, got it coming out my ear holes.

cheers Bubble...the TPN caps are an all in one fert, with the gravel being inert, i need something under the substrate. As for the light unit, i didn't get one, i'm using a 11w Arcpod

@ llj...cheers for the input, it's between 1 and 5 for me and 5 is just nudging it. I'm planning on doing something a tiny bit different (silly). It almost looks volcanic, so was gonna put and aponogeton red at the back of the main stone, giving it a volcano effect.

@ Minnnt...I'm not sure what to go for yet...steve has just put an idea in my head and go for some of those micro crabs...that or some rasboras

@ Steve...thanks for the input...you have to catch the women off guard (if you know what i mean :hey: ). As for the HC thanks mate, but me and HC have fallen out for a bit. I'm thinking of Riccia.

 I like my idea better. LOLOLOL

Just kidding! I'm sure it'll look great.

Ah, the tricky 2nd series tank .Plus the tour around your house continues

If it was a straight choice between pics shown, i'd be in the #4 camp, though Lij's idea is intriguing.....

A bit like natures chaos at tgm???

Still think 4 would be great for a volcano idea tho ;)

Oh and keesgrave tropicals on eBay sell micro crabs mate

thanks guys...i think it's going to be 5, but i am gonna remove the gravel as it takes a lot away from the hardscape. I'm going to nip out and get some cheap sand today.

@ Steve, yes thats the look i'm going for i reckon (TGM). I'm not sure it will work in such a small tank though.

@ Stu, The kitchen is the only room that hasn't been decorated since we moved in a couple of years ago. It needs doing, so disregard the state of it! lol
