It's a Penguin 150 BIO-Wheel power filter.
I'm getting REALLY worried about my fish too,
i've completly cleaned it all out to make sure there's nothing clogging it up,
I've tried different plug-ins and everything.
They fish aren't looking very good, and the waste is definetly building-up.
I've stopped feeding them so there wouldn't be any added waste.
PLEASE HELP ME RIGHT AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!
:( :( :( :( :( :(

Go the d.i.y. section about your filter.
Immediate water change, do you have an airstone.

I would do that water change.
Have you checked the impellor, that its not broken.

Could be a number of things. Try these things...

1) Change the fuse. Do it like for like, so if it says 3A, then change it for 3A. A means Amps.

2) Try physically pushing the physical mechanisim. Sometimes they get stuck. motors are usually made using magnets, it is uncommon but has been known to cease up them.

3) give it a wack. (ok, not too hard, but quite firm... as if you were clapping) - The russians do it, works on quite a lot of things.

4) Is it on warranty - Doing these things generally have no effects on warranties so you might need to exercise your warranty.

Hope this solves your issue. If not, then i'm sure some bright spark (excuse the pun) will know what to do. As wilder said, check the DIY page, and you also might want to check the 5 min filter article. Also, i'm pretty sure your filter is a HOB. That means the nitrifying bacteria is not being used. You might want to dump some of your media into the tank to stop the tank cycling.

Well i just unplugged it, and then when i went to plug it back in..it just wouldn't go on.
and what does a broken impeller look like?
i've just taken a few pictures...i'll show you them in a minute of the impeller
i do have a warranty on the filter..but i won't be able to get it to the shop until thursday..[4days is too long!]

Go with neo advice.
When my internal filter won't start I move in up and down in the water, sometimes that dosn't work either to, I remove the impellor again then it works.
Give it a bang.

Sorry i'm not very smart with mechanical things..
1.i have no clue on how to change the fuse.. :S
2.pushing..the what?
3. i tried wacking it, didn't work.
4.it does have a warranty

The fuse is inside the plug, usually now in its own conpartment, you just lift a little lid up.

I use a very tiny screw driver, but yours in the canada probably different to the uk.

I've got a corner out, but the more i try to open it, it sounds as though it's cracking, but it's not..so i'm not sure where the cracking is coming from..

Do you have a guy in your house. maybe get him.
