Nah tomoz is my EARLY day 1pm :D Cant wait its what I get for working so hard and staying back late two nights a week! Means I get to spend more time with my pets.........

Wow, I didn't realize I was mentioned so much! Flattering. :p

Ivan, you aren't overfeeding, unless you mean too much at each feeding?

5 times isn't excessive. The fry need small meals often, because their stomachs are smaller but they need lots of food to grow on. It's best to give some kind of high-protein maybe once a day, and the rest can be whatever you want. However, when you do feed high protein, don't make it much. Live plants in the tank will be your best bet if you can't feed that often, because the fry can eat the organisms off those and it will kind of make up for it. I wouldn't recommend feeding many high-protein foods if you do that though.

Hi Annastasia
Ive been feeding my fish 3 pinches of flake food and 3 pinches of fry food 3 times a day and have no real plants yet (will be getting around to that soon just waiting a few weeks for fry to get bigger) is this ok, i will get some bloodworms or Brine Shrimp soon and cut down on the flake. just had a look at tank and its looking a bit messy on the bottom will put some stress zyme in it for now will change some water Saturday  Ivor

You are feeding three pinches of flake and three pinches of fry PER feeding? That's too much, in my opinion. I'd say maybe one pinch of fry food for the fry is enough. :) Aren't they seperated? If not, what size tank and what fish?

Adding stress zyme won't do much, the only way to help that is water changes. What are your current stats?

No they are in the tank but are 2-3weeks old, The tank is 36" X 18" X 12" with silk plants, Fish are 5 neons, 5 Head & Tail light fish, 2 chinese Loaches, 2 Guppies & 7 baby ones, 1 Platy, 1 (6") Pleco, its 12:30am here so i will do stats tomorrow and add to thread many thanks Ivor :)

I think you might be overfeeding a bit, especially if the tank is getting dirty fast. I'd cut down to maybe one pinch of fry food and however many flakes your fish can eat in a few minutes.

You are aware Chinese Algae Eaters will become aggressive and can kill fish, right?

By the way, Kmackenzie, I sincerely apologize for hi-jacking your thread. I just felt I should reply. Congratulations on the babies, and I'm so glad to hear your "curse" is broken! Hope things continue to get better for you. :D
