I have a tank with 1 male lyretail molly and two female mollies. They've been together for about 3 months with no fry. I thought it was him, because he's a lyretail so i thought his 'you-know-what' wasn't right. So I bought three new mollies today,. a male and two females. One was free because someone returned her, so I took her, put her in the tank and I swear my lyretail male is in love! He never went after his other girls like he's going after her (I think it's because she looks like a big mindless cow, no offence to her)

Does anyone else have such a picky male who finally found true love? I think it's just adorable, she goes about her business and he follows her around like she's the only thing in the world. I hope he doesnt harass her to death tho :o he would be heart broken!!

Well its abit different but I had a male Convict Cichlid that went around battering female Convicts until he found one that would stand up to him.
Then he paired with her.

Lol! Good stories guys
The only story I can think of is my make guppy who has not paired up with a single of my 4 females, he totally ignores them. And I still don't know why

Yeah, I never understood what was wrong with my male Lyretail 9His name is Mohawk, because he's also sail fin) but this cow-female (her name is Cow because that's what she reminds me of :P) Anyways she seems to have really put him in the mood. She's bigger than his other two females, and darker, those are the only differences between them..

my old male platy (he died of dropsy around xmas time) only had eyes for one female - a female sunset. He had the choice of 3 (another sunset and a wagtail) but was hopelessly devoted to just her. The 14 fry I have now are his offspring. The other two were never pregnant once.

I've got a new male now and he follows the same female around too - she must be a tart or something! Having said that, one of my blue tuxedo females has a gravid spot so he's not as picky as my old guy!

lol same here i used to have convicts and i had a male and i got him 5 different females but he would just either ignore them or force them to be in one corner of the tank....until i got him a very small female, as soon as he saw her he showed aggressiveness but after about one hour, they were both in their skull cave and sometimes in the pot :) :) :) such beautiful fish, i had mine to spawn and they breed like crazy!
