Pointy Kitty, where do you live???
maybe someone from on here lives close enough to donate some mature filter media to run alongside in your tank and keep your water quality up so your fish have a better chance??
a good friend of mine lives close and could donate some mature filter media but i worry about disease in her tanks since she hasn't had much luck latley

i would rather not specifially say where i am located  sorry
nothing against you guys but anyone can read this page

hmm, ok if you dont want to post where you are, some people (like me) list their locations, why not pm a couple of people who are nearby and grovel??

Hi Pointy_kitty :)

Take a deep breath and just relax. What many people don't realize is that a tank does not have to be cycled at all for the fish to be healthy and safe. :D All that the fish really need is water that is clean and free from ammonia and nitrites. This can be maintained through water changes.

If it were my tank, I would cancel my order for additional fish until things get back to normal. Then I would do water changes as often as necessary, even it it means doing it daily.

Eventually the tank will cycle but it will just talk longer. It doesn't matter how much longer. But remember, when cycling with fish, a longer cycling process is much gentler and less harmful to them.

A cycled tank is good, because it saves the work of constantly monitoring the water and keeping it chemical free, but is by no means necessary. Remember that many people keep bettas in small uncycled tanks by keeping up with the water changes. It's the same with other fish too. :D
