I'm sat here checking in for the umpteenth time today and then I got thinking to myself......................do you know I actually spend more time on this website than actually watching my tanks? I bought my fish so that in the evening when the kids are in bed and my husband is snoring his way through my TV programmes I'd have a therapeutic beautiful tank to enjoy. Instead I find myself logging on when I'm eating my breakfast, just after lunch, and again in the evenings. I always knew fishkeeping would be an absorbing hobby but I seem to spend more time surfing on the web for fish related sites, posting and reading other peoples posts on here etc than actually sitting back and enjoying my gorgeous tank!

Does anyone else here recognise the symptoms?!!! Am I getting addicted? Maybe I should surf round for 'fish keepers anonymous'.

hehe. dont worry i do the same.
Thing is i get my ideas and tips from lots of websites so i like to think it makes me a better fish keeper :D
I wouldn't know anything if it wasnt for this forum.

what u can do is get some clear pvc-like piping, with a big diameter, it's often referred to as ghost tube, and put it in a couple of spots around the tankand not trying to be cruel or anything, make it so he can't get into the rocks. he'll search around and find a bit of ghost tube that he likes, then u can take the others out. it's what i've done with all the bgk's i've had (r.i.p.) and currently with my african.

im always on here.

i use firefox too so that i can have all the forums open in one window and i dont have to keep switching.

same with all the forums i join.

had the highest post count in the UK when i was on the xbox forums.

there jus addictive.

and yes i do have an outside life before anyone says it lol.

hi everyone,
im the same  , its bad because i work from home so im always lurking about, lol.
sussexgirl, do you go on live chat? i love it there to :good: , ive made some good friends on there  .
i love this forum, :hyper: .

I've always thought it was strange how I spend more time talking about fish than actually looking after fish! But like lintulover666 says it makes us a better fish-keeper!

well its like we spread our knowledge and learn from others, which is probably one of the best ways too learn. theres only so much a book can tell you i think.

just nice to read and share experiances

hey I'm usually on here twice daily and oddly though I do not often post in it my favourite haunt is the DIY section.

though I have been silent recently as just moved into a new flat (woo hoo) and I have only my mobile phone for net access till tomorrow when the cable guy calls (woo hoo)

though I feel I will still be spending more time off here as the migration of existing tanks is starting to take place.

I'm guilty too. I do dishes check the forums, laundry ditto, pick up kids then daughter and I check the forums and she learns alot here that helps her with her tank. Soon she will not need my help with her tank  but at least we'll have plenty to talk about :) . She her tank me mine.

No I don't Donna, went in there once and though there were people there; no one was talking! At least this way I can post, and check later rather. Having two small kids makes it really hard for me to sit in one place long enough to chat

it seems like im on here all the time now too since i joined. hopefully im gaining alot of knowledge on fish keeping from all you guys out there. when you think about owning a little goldfish in a 2 gallon bowl, it seems easy, but then it just grows from there and can be quite overwhelming.

and by the way, im guessing most of you guys out there are brits right? it seems like everyone that posts is from the UK. maybe all us americans are just ignorant when it comes to aquatica and need to ask you blokes from across the pond how things really work. haha
