I Think I Have My First Fish Holding....

It has a buldging mouth, like dislocated jaw, and at feeding swam up to the food but only took 1 bite and just swam at other peices but stopped.

It darkened up it's stripes. It would be a pundamilia nyererei. My main male isn't even colored up totally yet, although I've read that when they start to show some color they are sexually mature.

She looks so dark. I'm guessing she darkened up her stripes to try blend in as a male??? Males look totally different than females though.

Well, either it's a juvie male that has something stuck in it's throat ....

or it's female holding I'll try to raise the fry if that's the case

Most of my females have colored up when breeding usually they have gotten darker. See if you can take a peek inside if she cracks her mouth. Or is she shuffles her mouth alot thats her tumbling her eggs... Good Luck!! Congrats!

The mouth is always slightly open and looks like it's breathing out of it...(always slightly moving). It also does quite a few "yawns" (opens mouth wide)... I think it just may be holding.... It's hard to see inside atm. It's only 2 about inches long.

I also understand that it's her first time and it prob won't go to far....but it's still fun
