I can not find the stuff you put in the tank to neutralize the ammonia. I have been to 3 pet stores today with no luck.

Don't buy anything to neutralise the amonia, you need the amonia to feed your bacteria! No amonia, no bacteria, tank will never cycle!

Apart from dechlorinator and fertilizer, don't add chemicals to your tank unless you absolutely have too.

PS you can do up to 50% water changes daily if you need to, to pull your amonia and then nitrites down to zero.

not nescessarily true jozlyn, a lot of the products which claim to get rid of ammonia actually convert it to ammonium, this is less toxic to your fish but can still be used by your bacteria. they're actually not a bad idea if you're expereincing very very high ammonia levels, however if you've only got a small ammonia reading i wouldn't bother and just keep up water changes.
