My LFS got a new shipment of baby jaguar cichlids today, and they were SO cute... and at $4 each, how could I possibly resist?? ^_^
I figure I can grow this guy up and he can live with my oscar when my midas decides to become more aggressive, like I'm expecting her to. Right now The Marquis, as I've named the jag, is living in my 29 gallon with my senegal bichir and bumblebee catfish. :)

I thought so too. I got the darkest one of the group.. the rest were just kinda grey

I saw these in my petstore when i was new to fish keeping, i really wanted them! Now im glad i didnt get them because my biggest tank is too small for just one. I always loved these guys, but i dont have a big enough tank for em. I hope your going to get a bigger tank. Do you have a big enough tank for him? Knowing you, you probably do, but im just making sure. And if u plan on putting him with ur oscar...... dont!

I've heard jags are fine tankmates for oscars...?
He's in my 29 gallon for now, but I'm going to upgrade later, because I'll probably have to separate the midas and oscar eventually, which is when I would move the jag in with my oscar. My oscar is a pussycat, so considering what I've read about the compatibility of jags and oscars, I don't think it would be much of a problem.
