I still have one male  . Oscar and Felix used to split a 10 gal. tank, Oscar died a couple days ago so I rearranged everything for just Felix and the Plicostamus (sp?)
10 gallons with only two fish is pretty lonely and I started thinking about how cool a sorority tank would look  (5 females or so) but I can't! ARGH!! I can't really get another tank right now, mom and dad would shoot me, so am I at a spot where I want something I just can't have? Having that nice tank and practially nothing in it is driving me nuts! :shout:

What kind of pleco do you have?
If it's a common you'll need a bigger tank (they get huge).
If it is a common, or another big plec, I'd rehome him before thinking about getting anything else.
If it's a small plec, then I suppose with filtering you could split it so the male gets a small part (about 1 gal) part of the tank, and then you could add a sorority to the other side.
If you do, make sure you have plenty of plants and hiding spaces so they don't see each other so often. You could get 4 females, or maybe 5.

I wouldn't divide the tank if you have a Pleco in there regardless of whether it is a small one. 10G is pretty much the minimum for most Plecos so if you are dividing the tank, it may be worth rehoming it. ;)
