Hi all....
Just a question...
Earlier today I did a water change to hopefully dilute down a possible 'bad' bacterial outbreak after buying some dodgy fish yesterday (those fish are in a separate tank now)
Anyway, I have a Fluval 1 plus internal filter and I was told by a lad in the LFS that a carbon filter would possibly help to take out any possible water contaminant nasties from the tank.
The Fluval filter only has one sponge in it, and is not set up for a carbon insert. Also the carbon filters I bought were designed for a Fluval 2 filter.
So what I did was, I cut my Fluval 1 plus sponge in two lengthways and placed the carbon filter in between the two sponges....like a sandwich.
Thats okay isn't it?? There is still lots of room for the water to circulate around....
Also, was the LFS guy correct in his advice? Or are carbon filters really meant for something else?
Thanks...
