Yes they are . same surface area , probably will hold the same number of fish .
If you keep plants the lighting
may need to be increased to accommodate the addition in depth .
I would go for another 75 , and some smaller tanks myself .
20 gal long is a good footprint size , and a good depth for maintaining aquatic plants as well . [ the kind that don't grow real tall anyway.
What types of fish are you interested in ?
Well there many different species that come from similar environments [ water chem requirements ]in one tank ?
Do you want to have your fish breed at all ?
If it's fish that stay 4 " and under , maybe smaller tanks may work for you.
Are you under the gun as far as your decision ?
I also have a 70/75 gallon tank, and cringe at the thought of ever having to move it again , a 6 footer

, do you have help available to you just to get it into place , and once it's there I hope you like it , these are the things I ask myself because I'd love a 6 or even an 8 ' tank . I could pack many of dwarf sized fish in it ,
BUT WOULD GO BROKE STOCKING IT WITH FISH AND PLANTS
