I Need To Put My Fish Down But How?

I got 3 festivums and 2 of them would pick on this one and by the time I could move him it was too late he never could get food because of the other being bullies. SO the fish never grow the others are big and doing well. This one was eatting a little but was so skinny and anorexic that he never could eat enough to gain weight I wish I could force feed him.

SO now he is so skinny and weak there is no hope. I have to but him down he will not even try to eat. I'm thing I should take him outside and chop his head off it would be quick and painless. But I just don't know if I can bring myself to do it. But to let him suffer is wrong.

How have you put sick fish down?

My way is bag and brick method but i usually have to put smaller fish like guppies down, not larger ones. So sorry he's not living very well and it is hard to do stuff like this but sometimes it's for the best. Even though it seems horrible to do it i'm guessing it's more horrible for them to have to live and suffer than it is to put them out of their misery.

I've seen things such as clove oil. I'm assuming this has the same affect as overdosing chloroform?

Thanks guys I don't know where to get clove oil and I heard its not as fast. Well I did it took him out back and did what I had to do. It was not fun I felt so bad but this little guy was on his way out. It had to be done .

Yeh, it's a bummer, but is part of the hobby. Can't beat a large sharp knife, a chopping board and a steady arm. Just chopping the head straight off is as instant as you can make it.

I think clove oil just acts as an anaesthetic, and wont actually kill the fish?

My way is to Shock them, Put a Cup of water in the Freezer until a layer of ice forms on the top, then i put the fish in, it Shocks it, Yes its part of the hobby, Better to end its missery than let it suffer.
