You can buy them at the chemist like nytol depending on the size of the fish, i just added one to put my guppy down, he went calm then died.

I think the bucket idea to try to heal him back is the best idea offered here.
Unless you can find clove oil, or unless you have the nerve to chop his head off with a scalpel or sharp pointed object to put him out of his misery, I'd really try the bucket approach. If he's hung on as long as he has in that condition, he's obviously a fighter and deserves the chance to at least decide when it's his time to go.

I didn't mean to sound like I was criticizing earlier - it just sounded like you were desperate for help and didn't realize that the barbs would surely nip the heck out of an angel when put together. If the angels were both sick when you got them, and the other one died, and if this one was still sick that's all the more reason for him to get picked on.

Good luck.

the angels wern't sick when i got them they were fine and healthy i got them back in october when i changed my tank from cold water to tropical. they were the first fish i got, if i had my time back i probley wouldn't have got them but thaat being said i still wouldn't wish them dead.

anyway i'm on my way to walmart now to buy melifix to put the little guy in a bucket to try to get him better. by the way if i don't have a filter in the bucket will i do 10% water change or more every day?? please give me some pointers. i'll check back in a few hours when i get back from walmart.

i know walmart is not the greatest place on earth but their meds are at least 20% cheaper!!!!

Whenever euthenasia is mentioned nobody mentions the stuff you can get from the vet to humanely put down a fish. Is that because somebody tried it and it was no good/too expensive? Never had to kill a fish yet, just wondered in case I ever have to. I have a fish with popeye at the moment. I have treated with Interpet No 9 and am hoping for the best. :(

please notice my post for today about what's going on with everything. basically a friend of mine (studing to be a vet) looked my angel over and said it was not a nipping problem but some sort of fungus or disease, she can't tell which without a blood test. but she did say however that his mouth is beyond repair and he will starve to death. so it looks like i will have to do the deed soon.

it will be tomorrow afternoon before i can get the chance to do it but i will let you know what happens.

i would like to say i appreciate the support from most from my post yesterday and today. i know it's always hard to euthanise and for other to accept that it has to be done but please for future refrence remember those asking for help don't need critisisms they need support and understanding
