i recently bought two plants at petsmart and nobodys ID'd them on similar posts. heres a picture of the two plants..one is a white ribbon and the other is an umbrella plant? i got them at petsmart and it says theyre aquatic on the label...but people have said the white ribbon is not. has anyone heard of these or know if theyre low light?

ive researched online and havent come up with much...thanks

The white ribbon plant is definitely not aquatic. Can't tell what the other plant is.

That 'white ribbon' is a dracaena, which is best grown as a house plant and definitely not aquatic. Oh and plants usually sold as umbrella fern are usually not aquatic either. Stick the dracaena in a pot in some compost, it will make a really nice house plant.

In case you're tempted to leave the dracaena in for a while... don't. It will seem to keep looking ok for a while but if you pull it up you will notice that it stinks and then, very slowly, it will rot and pollute your tank. Happened to me a while back and I've decided that until I know otherwise I will never buy a plant that has white as well as green (especially if it stands up on its own out of water!) Petsmarts seem to carry these things 24/7.
