Hi m8,

Sounds like Bloat or swim bladder disease to me - can't see it being anything else as the inability to swim properly is a dead giveaway. There are internal medications you can buy for swim bladder disease but i can't reccommend any as i have tried a couple in the past (Interpet, King British) with no success unfortunately. In both cases the fish in question never recovered and died.

Sorry i can't be more help.

swim bladder IME is a weird disease, I am 100% sure one of my tigerbarbs had it, it was swimming upsdie down on its head all sorts, I was going to treat but thought I would wait and sure enough after a water change and a few days it was swimming normally again. unless it had like a fishy stroke or something, but now its totally fine.

weird

That is really odd. What can I do to prevent these illnesses?

P.S. She didn't make it.

Sorry to hear that.

Prevention is simply water quality and feeding regime - both of which i am sure you know about by now but even then you can't always prevent disease/illness - you can only do your best. :good:

Sorry to hear that nuke

I know one of the rosey barbs I used to have got it, I am sure from tyring breed too much I heard that can be a factor, and I reckon the tiger barb got it from bullying. Just the constant pounding from other fish.

Thanks guys. I guess it's a little lesson learned :-(
