I Need All Of Your Help!

Now come to think of it since u have a 50 gallon and you are going to move your goldfish and plec in it then ur question would be what to put in 10 gallon ... and u said u want something colorful. Hmmmm ..... i would put 2 rams. Just 2 rams and nothign else. I know some people would argue with this but i think if u keep a planted 10 gallon tank with just 2 rams they would do fine. . .
Or just keep livebearers.

Cichlids need a certaqin setup and Ph for their tank. There are some beautiful cichlids out there that are compatible, do some research on the web and you can find different types of cichlids and there requirements for tank.

This is a forum that would help you alot. They need sand, rocks with lots of hiding places, read up on them. I always wanted a cichlid tank but don't have one yet. Right now I have too many tanks already  and just found out electricity is going way up this yr, Oh No  .

I'd say a single ram in a ten gallon, a pair only really in a 20.

Colourful fish for a ten gallon? Peacock Goby.

Love cichlids am I not correct in saying that kribensis are the exception to the pH problem rule. My pair have happily lived in my very small tank and at the minute my male is very happy exploring my community 30 gallon. They still need plenty of hides but aren't they quite a hardy variety?

yes I had a pair of kribensis but no success in keeping them, don't remember what happened, it was quite a while back. But yes they do fine and you don't have to mess with the Ph.
I have a blue ram, male, in my community tank, am getting a few females for him, since a while back his mate died. They do very well especially if you feed them blood worms twice a week, mine eats the smaller snails in the tank. I keep snails for my puffer. I agree a pair in a 20 is good. I can put in 2 females since it is in 30 gallon planted tank, with lots of hiding places for them.
