she just wont stop eating i feed once a day either a pinch of nutrafin max flake and then on some days i vary with frozen diet (as ive run out of live atm) and she still bloody eats my plants... well she dont eat them really she just tears the leaves off and then spits them out, my tank is bloody covered in leaves atm lol

is this a behaviour abnormal or is she just being a pain in my backside

Sounds like a breeding thing.... i've read the male does this to build a nest...

If its definately female,you could have a gravid female.

My female eats most of what i put in

i have a pair of opalines they are the centre of attention on feeding times, and grown rather large! the pair are too big for my 2 ft tank so in my 5ft. when spawning, the males chases her round the tank for a few days then he goes off grab some leaves chews and spits and puts them under the cave i have for them he then chases her and others from the cave goes up and down for air then builds the bubble nest on the leaves (perhaps because the cave would cause damage to his nest) he then goes out and does some wierd dance next to her, guiding her to the cave, dont see them till a few hours after and then he chases her away guards the nest, only moves if he has to for food gets a bit dodgy with others passing the cave.

males will build a nest even if no female present also.

its been confirmed 100% its a she dwarf gourami i dont know what shes doing lol shes at it right now as write this email! just going to town on the plants of the leaves.... my male is just swimming around slowly but every time he crosses her eyesight she chases him its quite comical to watch tho

Sound normal to me, all the commonly available species of Gouramis tend to be really greedy

But we are telking about a female DG here so what the hell is she doing lol acting like a male

If its definately female,you could have a gravid female.
