Ok, my dad set up a plan. We'll grow up the oscar and parrot in a 55 gallon, as we already have one. Then, once they get pretty decent sized, we'll move them into something 80+ gallons. But guess what, I know where I'll get my non dyed Jellybean parrot! Yes you heard me, non dyed! At a lfs, would you imagine that, ok, so some were dyed purple (hardly noticeable, they cost more), but man, I really want one! Then, they had a flowerhorn, my dad really wanted to get it, but then I showed him the price ($70), then he turned it down. So, I just though I'd say!

parrot cichlids are soo cool I just got one with my aro who is really really skittish you have to leave the room then only he feeds well not for me anyway and since I got it the aro became less skittish and is like any other ordinary aro and the parrot eats like a pig

Are you planning to raise the jellybean parrot with the oscar? I'm not sure how well that would work out...

both me and a friend have mixed parrots and oscars with no problems, i get the odd squabble but its over as quick as it starts, i dont know if i would risk a very small parrot though, i know my oscars would soom eat a small jellybean, its a good idea to get a reasonable sized one, or make sure the oscars stay well fed !!

Well, I'm pretty sure it'll be fine, cause the oscars and the jellybeans were in the same tank.

Small senegal bichirs and guppies are sometimes found in the same tank in fish shops, that doesn't mean squat
My concern is that jellybeans are CONSIDERABLY more aggressive on average than are bloods since they are, after all, 50% convict. They also lack the deformed mouth bloods have so their bites do more damage if they do get aggressive. By all means do try it, I'm just saying... be cautious, and watch them very closely as they mature.

Yes, I know oscars can be aggressive. Synirr was refearing to the Jelly bean parrots.

Just be careful... if you're going to try a jellybean and an oscar make sure you can spend a good amount of time watching them. I had 2 small oscars killed in a 55g tank by 3 1.5'2'' blood parrots.. the oscars were 2'' and 2.5'' ..

So keep an eye on them and be sure you can take it back and exchange it if things don't work out.

The ''squabbles'' can turn into serious fights eventually.. I had/have an overstocked tank and at times I would see fish with nipped fins or a little mark on them, and about 1/2 the time I would find the fish dead within the next few days.. So be careful!
