I've lost 3 male rams in the past two months, two german blue and one gold, all were apparently healthy and all about 1-1.5" long. they all spawned with the same female, one after the other over the course of about two months. i have a specially prepared 63l tank for my ram pairs that has been set up for several months and it is well planted with cabomba and swordplants, has bogwood, a smooth spawning rock and a cave in it. the internal filter is a fluval 2plus and is working fine. the substrate is the very dense limpopo black 'sand', as would be found naturally in the wild. the water quality is very high:
Ammonia: 0ppm
Nitrite: 0ppm
Nitrate: 0ppm
pH: 7.0
temperature: 27-29C/81-84f
it is very soft water, being RO water.

does anyone now why i've lost three healthy male rams one after the other, all after spawning with the same female. all the eggs dissapeared within 36hours each time. there are no other fish in the tank with the rams and at the moment i have just my female ram in my breeding tank.

can anyone suggest why i've lost these fish? they've all been perfectly healthy and then died within 24hours of acting strangely, all without a mark on them.

Any feedback would be appreciated,
