I was reading up on different fish today on the internet and seen someone mention
green terrors with 'silver' tips on there dorsal fin are known to be wild caught?

Wondering if this is true as i notice some green terrors have it and some dont?

They would be called silver saum. THe more common GT's we see in LFS are gold saum.
Not sure if they are considered as simply a different colour morph of the same species or actually as different species.

I see, one of my females (not sure about the other) has the silver dorsal fin tip but it fades into orange about half way.
The male doesnt have it and they breed pretty often so i'd guess different colour morph if she's a silver saum?
