I Haven't Had Fish For 15 Years!

Happy to find your forum.
I live 1.5 hours from the nearest pet store in northern ontario.
I have children who needed pets so we got 2 goldfish, a black moar, and a fantail.
We have a small albino catfish and have lost our 3rd pleco.
Anyone had success with a pleco and goldfish?
My water temperature is 71F is this too cold for a pleco?

The tank is 12 gallon, the other fish are 2-3 inches including tails. I do the regular water changes and use water conditioner; i have well water.
The 2nd plec was good for a week then a white cotton like spot appeared on the top fin. I didn't have any meds by the time I got some fungus stuff he was dead, fins eaten.
I treated tank and was away for easter.
Fish looked fine then got the 3rd pleco and rest of fish looked bad next day.
Ich came up still treating, pleco died.
All 3 fed well on algae, had brown algae and then green. This one looked fine until I found him dead in the am.
is 71F too warm for goldfish too???

Well, the tank is too small for goldfish and plecos, so water quality might be the problem, temperature is about OK though. Part of the problem might be the shop they are from too.
