I Have Tetras With Barbs, Is That Possible?

I have used these 10 tetras to cycle my tank, they all done really well and their very entertaining to watch, Their also very greedy. One thing I have noticed is that some of them have barbs, I didnt think tetras had barbs. So the question is are they really tetras ???

could this be a way of sexing this species.

I think they may be a type of danio. They look like danios....

Look like pearl danios, my favorite fish. The barbels are normal, danios have two pair of them. The small ones on their chin are too short to notice usually, and the long ones (in the picture) are very fine and almost impossible to see most of the time.

Seconded, nice little fish if a little skittish at times. (Or perhaps just skittish after one of the daft little buggers took a dive.)
