Congrats on the co2, sorry about the slime!
If it's any consilation (which I doubt), I doubt the co2 will have caused the blue-green algae (cyanobacteria). I had an outbreak about 18 months ago, I think caused by over-stocking, over-feeding and under filtering, also my substrate was going anaerobic - all in all a pretty dim picture!! I don't see the same problem in your tank by reading your signature.
Hopefully the light reduction will help but ensure you monitor your co2 levels as these will obviously raise in the absence of photosynthesis.
