I have no good title for this.

8 altums in a 400 sound way better than 8 angels and 12 gourami in a 75.
I have no doubt that anewbie will pull it off with tremendous success.
The point is the marketing image doesn't match reality. How does that help anyone? The person walking into petsmart thinks they can put those fish all together in a 75 because that what the picture shows. It might work, it may fail horribly. But wouldn't it be more realistic to show 2 or 3 angels and a couple of gourami?
Remember the old saying, perception becomes reality?
Well since this is marketing which sells an aquarium better - a picture of 3 angels in a 75 or a picture of 8 angels and 12 gourami. Petsmart isn't in the business of educating people it is in the business of selling to suckers.

I’m an optimist. I believe that science will save us and the animal kingdom before we have total catastrophe. The Book of Revelations is 2000 years old. No apocalypse yet.
Well bud - there is the story of the lady who drown and then ask at the pearly gate why she wasn't saved and the answer was she ignored the (a) and (b) and (c) that was sent - what more did she want.

We got (a) more then 40 years ago and we are seeing (b) these days and i suspect (c) will be a multi-year famine that will kill a few million but hardly everyone. And i suspect we will continue to do nothing good about the issue and so we can then ask this question at the pearly gate....

What you want is a magic wand since we have chosen to ignore science.

Yes life will get worse before it gets better. But it won’t get better in our lifetime. Science hasn’t advanced enough to reverse our current trajectory. But like Phoenix we will raise from the ashes.

Sadly the Phoenix is a myth though an interesting one and this is reality for better or worse ;)

Life gets better every day, it's just in such small increments we don't notice.
Just today I was reading about a revolutionary new injection that can regrow cartilage in human knees. This may control or prevent arthritis.

We can debate the good and bad of humans til we turn blue, with no resolution. It seems to depend on the humans we're discussing. I've seen acts of absolute cruelty, and acts of wonderful solidarity. We're animals like all others, and we don't all inherit the same wiring or live in the same cultures.

It's always going to appear in our approach to pets. You have to define your ethics and build from that. If you're against cruelty, don't be cruel.
Always look on the bright side of life. Good tune that.
