Amy.....you're gonna kill me!!!!! Guess what I forgot to buy at shopping today Batteries!
If I can find the energy I'll go back out and get some....and I promise to have some pics up later!

Anyway, the gang of three are doing great!!!! Ellis [my daughter] did tests on the tank for me this morning and we're reading at amm:0 [ish....just a trace], nitrites:0 and a slight showing of nitrates. So not bad really considering I probably killed all my bacteria when I added the salt
I've just rinsed the hydrometer [got to start trusting it at some point!] and it was reading 1.008, so I've just taken out 30l and added back fresh.....will re-test in a minute, hopefully this will drop the salt and bring the ammonia to a big fat zero!

Hmmmm that hydrometer sounds ummm great! I guess I will have fun when getting mine, though may be going on the recommendation of a refractometer if can get one!! LOL Those readings really are not bad considering the salt! Good on you! Ive padded out the GSP tank a little more (posting a pic soon ).

So pleased hon and still jealous! Still in love with Casanova and reaaaalllly want to see the heart shaped sploge! Any names for other two babes yet? (Im REALLY sad and have names for the two GSPs already!) lol

Well, just re-tested after 30l water change
Stats are.....

Amm: really not sure on this one I think it's 0.25, it keeps coming up abit cloudy , which is what Ellis phoned me with this morning....any ideas anyone?
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 0

Salty bit.....1.006....so at least that went in the right direction!!!!!! [Am so technical me!!!!! ]

The best bit was getting called gross by my son.....found some large [ish] pest snails in Ellis' Betta tank so gave one each to the boys [how do you sex a F8? ] and they ripped them to shreds....Excellent stuff Will get a video of that!!!!

F8s as far as know and read dont think can sex unless labortory! (Check with Neale on that one though).

Not sure on the ammonia weird, has the test kit become contaminated with anything else??

Fed the gang some live shrimp this morning [had some handy] and they weren't overly impressed....think I may have spoilt them with the snails . They looked at me as if to say....''What the hell are these tiny morsels?'' So I syringed the rest into the worm feeder.....and left them to it! Went back two minutes later and found one puff in the feeder eating the lot, while the other two looked on from the outside
