I Have Fry!

I bought a new swordtail 2 weeks ago, who was pregnant. Yesterday I realized she was pregnant, and today she's dropped fry!

They are still in the quarantine tank and I see 3 of them. The mother is still in there as I just came home from work to find them. My question is: when will I know she's dropped all she will this time around? I seem to remember that there might be some time between birthing when I was reading up yesterday. I really didn't think she would drop this soon, so now I'm a less prepared!

She's considerably smaller, but she still has the black spot.

The gravid spot isn't really a good indication. If she is considerably thinner, I'd say she's probably done.

The black spot is almost meaningless. If she suddenly got thinner, chances are good that she has dropped her fry. That means at least 4 more weeks before the next drop.

That's good to know about the gravid spot. I took her out of the 10 gal soon after making the post, I figured it was better to be on the safe side. I have at least eight fry, I don't know if she ate any or if any got sucked into the filter. I stuck some sponge in the intake of my aquaclear to hopefully keep any out of there as they sponge filter I put in isn't seasoned.
