Hello, Last saturday my dad bought some fish from petco ( serpae tetras, swordtails, and 1 angel fish) and put them into our community tank without quarintine. The fish in that community are all over 1yr old and have been doing great b4 the fish were added. All of the new commers are doing fine except for the 1 angel fish, and 1 sword tail. ( The angel and swordtail died) And for some reason it has killed my fish that have been established and doing well for over a year for ex. it has already taken 3 of my columbian tetra's, 2 very large angels, and 1 beta. My 2 large angels were infected with fin rot from the new comers (Im guessing here) and I have tried to treat them for the past 3 days but they will not make it because they are dying slowly in the 10g Q tank. How could i cull them because i hate watching them suffer? "1 is on the intake of my filter and the other is laying down on the gravel" But I had 6 angels and they were the only 2 that were infected with fin rot. My water paremeters are: ph: 7.0 ammonia: 0 ppm. But I did a 75% water change the day after i found 3 dead fish. The ph is usually around 7.2 and i have not done anything different than i usually do after water changes. This is very strange. Wat could be happening? The tank is an established tank and has been running for over 1 year without any problems or fish casualties. Now all of a sudden they start dying on me. About 3 years ago I have had my entire community tank destroyed by some unknown killer in my 55g but now it is starting to become a problem again since i have added the fish from petco. I no longer have the 55g, and everything that was added to my 125g tank is brand new and if it isnt it was sterolized very well b4 adding it to my 125g. Wat is the problem here? thanks

Do they show any physical problems before they die, and have they darkened in colour.

I have not seen any signs vefore the fish died. Its just a sudden non painful death I guess but every fish in the tank is active and eating like normal. My angels are fine, the bala sharks are eating the dead fish and all of the others are just normal. That is why this is so wierd to me. When everything looks normal it isnt. The filter is a magnum 350 pro system and is fully cycled. so my nitrite should be normal but i will get u the nitrite readings asap.

Do water changes for a few days to see if that helps if they are still dying then i would add anti internal bacteria med, I also would add the internal bacteria med to the hospital tank

it is to late to save my poor angels in med tank. I want to cull them because i hate to see them suffer any more. DO u know of a way to cull them?

Clove oil and vodka, over dose of internal bacteria med, or just vodka.

thanks for the help. I will have to just keep up with the water changes because i do not have any med's right now.

do you know the turnover of your filter?
I may be wrong but your tank seems to be a bit over crowded.
As the problem started when you introduced fish without quarantining then there was something along the lines of a bacterial disease which has killed your fish quickly.
As you dont have any meds then yes you will need to do more in the way of water changes more often.

my filter is rated 500 gallons per hour.

I think these problems occured simply because the new fish weren't quaratined :/
If the other fish were doing fine until the new fish were added, that is IMO, the only possible cause

Do more water changes (or larger ones), and use appropriate medications for the sick fish, good luck
