how long should i let the filter matter cycle for and can i add other things from the pre existing aquarium to speed up the process?

The filter needs to cycle for as long as it takes for it to drop 5ppm of ammonia to zero ammonia and nitrite within 12 hours. To get to this point, you need to add liquid ammonia from a chemist, every 24hours and testing every 12 Boots household ammonia is what I use, though Robbert Diyas aparently also make one that works
